Your Journey Begins

Start Here

Whoever you are and wherever you are coming from β€” you are welcome here. At St. Nektarios Parish we seek to hold the ancient Faith with love, and to share it gently with all who are searching.

I

Experience Christ in Fullness

Encounter the living Christ through ancient liturgy, the theology of the Fathers, and the unbroken sacramental life of the Apostolic Church. This is not a doctrine to master β€” it's a life to live.

II

Study the Witness of the Fathers

The great Church Fathers β€” Basil, Gregory, John Chrysostom β€” defended the true Faith against error. Their writings illuminate Scripture and show us how the early Church understood the Gospel.

III

Join a Living Community

Genuine Orthodoxy is not solitary. You belong to a communion stretching back to Pentecost β€” a community rooted in prayer, worship, and mutual love in Christ.

IV

Become a Witness Yourself

Once you have come to know this Faith, you become part of a great cloud of witnesses β€” living it quietly, sharing it gently, and praying for all people everywhere.

Why Join St. Nektarios Orthodox Church?

Rootedness in Truth

We don't reinvent the faith with each generation. The ancient wisdom of the Fathers β€” tested by time, martyrdom, and spiritual experience β€” guides us. You inherit their victory.

Authentic Sacramental Life

The sacraments are not symbols β€” they are transformative encounters with Christ's grace. In Orthodoxy, you experience the divine life flowing through the ancient mysteries.

Belonging to Something Transcendent

You don't join a club or a trend. You enter the Mystical Body of Christ β€” part of a spiritual communion that spans centuries and connects earth to heaven.

Honest and Gentle

We speak clearly about what we believe β€” and we do so with respect for every person. Our convictions are firm, our arms are open.

Take the Next Step

Explore the teachings of the Fathers, ask your questions openly, and discover why the ancient Faith still speaks β€” with warmth β€” to so many today.

In Memory Β· †November 15/28, 1927

Saint Catherine of Mandra β€” First Martyr of the Old Calendar Struggle

In November 1927, three years after the Greek hierarchy imposed the Revised Calendar, police surrounded a church in Mandra, Attica, on the orders of the new-calendar Archbishop of Athens β€” to arrest the faithful's Old Calendar priest. Catherine Routis, a 27-year-old mother of two, formed a human wall with the other pious women. When a policeman raised his rifle-butt to strike Father Christopher, Catherine covered him with her body. She received the mortal blow to the back of her head. She died seven days later, whispering "Most Holy Theotokos…" Her last note to her husband asked him to care for their children β€” one four years old, the other a few months old.

A mother of two, aged 27, who shielded her priest with her own body and received the blow meant for him.

Glorified as a saint by the Holy Synod of the Church of the True Greek Orthodox Christians of Greece, September 6/19, 2014.
